Hello everyone,
I was interested in giving and inclusion workshop for us, talking about what barriers people face in participating in the party and in democratic structures in general. I have quite some experience in community organizing, especially for marginalized groups and have studied participatory approaches in diploma in development studies and in my masters for public health. There is a description of the workshop below. I already sent an email to tortuga@piratar.is, but did not get a reply.
Inclusion workshop
Participatory projects and democratic processes are often unintentionally exclusive towards the most marginalized in society unless carefully designed with these groups in mind. In this workshop I want to examine participation in the pirate party, where are barriers to participation and how those can be removed. I draw from my experience as a community and labour organizer with marginalized groups.
